England’s First Two Games
Seeing the contrast of the first two England games in the world cup was really something.
I wanted to make an animation poking fun at the juxtaposition of the play of the two games. Obviously this is meant in a light hearted way, the team should be very proud of what they achieved in the tournament, but I think we can all agree the second game wasn’t the most captivating.
This project was created entirely in 3D, trying to emulate the look of claymation. This was a personal challenge for me to see how fast I could achieve something like this. I thought it could be a useful skill for social commentary and current events, which obviously need a quick turn around.
The whole animation took roughly 3 days to make, which included storyboarding, concept design, modelling, retopology, UV mapping, texturing, rigging, animating and video editing. As it was a personal project, obviously I could move a lot faster as I didn’t need aspects signed off by anyone else, this helped keep the project in a short time frame. It was a packed few days with little room for revision, but I think it turned out quite well.
