I feel that the UK at the moment is in quite a negative place. For years there’s been a sense of dissatisfaction with our past, where we are and where we are heading.

I wanted to create something positive about our history. It is undeniable Britain has committed atrocities in it’s past, but I think it’s important to also remember the contributions we’ve made. I thought science was a good area to explore for this.

I really enjoy the paper illustrations made by the artist Helen Mussellwhite and wanted to loosely emulate the aesthetic of paper cutouts whilst adding some creative elements and 3D to keep the animation interesting.
