I feel that the UK at the moment is in quite a negative place. For years there’s been a sense of dissatisfaction with our past, where we are and where we are heading.

I wanted to create something positive about our history. It is undeniable Britain has stains on it’s history, but I think it’s important to not forget the positive impacts we’ve had on the world. I thought science was a good area to explore for this.

I really enjoy the paper models made by the artist Helen Mussellwhite and wanted to emulate the aesthetic whilst adding some creative elements to keep the animation interesting.
